Position Overview
A Tower Technician specializes in installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment on a cell site tower. We are currently seeking qualified Tower Technicians to join the Ritel Family. We would prefer prior experience in Cell Tower Construction Services but will provide training to entry level workers. The title Cell Tower Climber is often used interchangeably with a Tower Technician. While both roles work with cell towers to provide wireless communication services, a climber may install equipment (antennas, radios etc.) and conduct routine maintenance at the top of the towers which requires additional education, experience, and training.

General Duties and Job Tasks
- Climb towers up to 350ft to access components, using safety equipment, such as full-body harnesses.
- Perform installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of wireless radio and antenna systems on elevated structures.
- Perform maintenance or repair work on existing tower equipment, using hand or power tools.
- Lift equipment into position, using cranes and rigging tools or equipment such as matt’s arm.
- Run appropriate power, ground, or coaxial cables.
- Complete reports related to project status, progress, or other work details, using computer software.
Tower Technician Role Classification & Requirements
The job role classification of Tower Technician can be divided into six categories based on training, experience, and responsibilities.
1. Tower Technician Green Hand: This is an entry level position. Prior experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided by the company. Required to complete industry certification. On-the-job training and work under the supervision of an experienced professional for at least a year.
2. Tower Technician Level I: Awarded after completing one year job training. May be qualified in advance by employer upon review of performance. Rated competent by employer and can climb self-sufficiently. Proficient in antenna and other installation types. NWSA TTT1 Certification
3. Tower Technician Level I: I Awarded upon two years of performing maintenance and installation independently at various cell sites. May be qualified in advance by employer upon review of performance. Starts to specialize in different aspects of cell site construction. NWSA TTT1 Certification
4. Tower Technician Level III: Has at least three years of experience and demonstrates high-level of competence in the many areas of cell site construction. May be qualified in advance by employer upon review of performance. They are first picks for Top Hand and Foreman positions and are capable of mentoring Green Hands as the competent person on a team. NWSA TTT1 Certification
5. Tower Technician Top Hand: Minimum three years’ experience in all aspects of line and antenna system installation, replacement, and maintenance. Assist the foreman. They may be the competent rigger on the team that can plan out simple rigging plans for low level rigging requirements. NWSA TTT2 Certification
6. Foreman: Minimum three years’ experience in all aspects of line and antenna system installation, replacement, and maintenance. This is the highest tier on a team. They are in charge of small to large crews. They tend to have the most experience in a number of areas for cell site construction. Foremen are often PIM Master Certified for line sweeping, loss and other types of antenna/line troubleshooting. Foreman are also a competent rigger who has the authority to produce advanced rigging plans that require the lifting of 500lbs or more. Foremen may also communicate with project managers and engineers consistently depending on the scope of work. NWSA TTT2 Certification

Qualifications & Certifications:
- US work authorization (required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Tower Climber Certification (preferred)
- Minimum 10 Hour OSHA Training (preferred)
- RF Safety Training (preferred)
- Line Sweep Certification or 2+ years Line Sweep experience (Anritsu or equivalent) (preferred)
Salary:
- Tower Technician Green Hand: $14.00 – $17.00
- Tower Technician I: $17.25 – $22.00
- Tower Technician II: $22.25 – $25.00
- Tower Technician III: $25.25 – $28.00
- Tower Technician Top Hand: $28.25 – $30.00
- Tower Technician Foreman: $30.00+
Work Schedule: Between the hours of 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. May vary based on customer demands and can include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Location: Site locations will be in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas with possible travel throughout the state of Texas (and other states)
